Jan 12 Flash Fiction – 100-150 words

First line:
“Racing down into the2015-01-12-bw-beacham atmosphere, the unidentified object crashed, leaving behind one heck of a huge crater and a plume of smoke which could be seen for miles around.”

“One of ours?” Jack asked Nielson, staring at the control room screens.
“Dunno, Commander. Karl’s off with Recovery. Be back soon.”
Jack nodded, hiding his anxiety. It wouldn’t be good if this was one of theirs. Especially after last time. That stink still hadn’t died down…

  1. This is a great response to the propmt. I loved the dialogue and you really evoke the sense of smell! You’ve made approprriate use of Mount Etna too. I really enjoyed reading this.
